    Thanks for the video, a friend just bought the 15 pro and we noticed that the colors are weird sometimes. For example violet gets a blue touch, if something white is in the frame (eg a white paper), the colors are more accurate. Is there anything in the settings that can help to make the colors more natural?

    Thanks, for lens tip and contrast with tap the "Sun". Did not even know that was there. I found myself always adding Contrast about 10-15, and sometimes increasing Black Point 10 using the Apple edit on 15Pro. Thanks again!

    1. Raw files are big. Takes a lot of space. I switched to jpegs after realizing that I don't need all the raw data all the time. So switching to Raw is not a need. 2. Focus mode on Spot? Modern cameras these days have great subject tracking. I have mine on tracking all the time. I just go to spot when needed. So this is also a no. 3. Center weighted? What if you want to expose on your subject who's not in the middle? It's better to keep it on Matrix because it exposes everything in the frame. Therefore, not a need. Instead of saying these things as "Camera settings you NEED to change when getting a new camera", it's better to teach beginners what these settings are for and when to use them.

    I love my 50mm 1.4 GM, it is currently my favorite of my three GM 1.4 lenses (24/35/50) I usually travel with two cameras and leave the 50mm on the Sony and combine it with my Q3.

    • @Cthames123
      @Cthames123 День тому

      Whats your body that you use your 50mm, f1.4, GM? You have a nice collection of G-masters lenses. I have the 24mm and just got the 50mm, f1.4 that I had been pining for, for some time. With your Q3(28mm), seems you have the wider focal lengths of your 24 and 35 covered for your travels, but isn’t there an equivalent APSC super 35 crop in mode in the Leica Q3, 60MP sensor that lets you really time crop and extend the focal length out to 90mm? Now, given the GMaster lenses are clinically razor sharp, and distortion free (awesome), but why not use your Q3 60MP, (crop until you can’t crop any more), one camera be all end all for travel?

    • @Cthames123
      @Cthames123 День тому

      Also, Leica is not Sony but would like to hear how you would compare and contrast your Leica Q3, with it’s 28mm, f1.7 lens to your Sony 24mm, f1.4, GM lens.

    • @t87h21
      @t87h21 День тому

      @@Cthames123 I own the A7 IV. The Q3 cannot replace the Sony, and the same cannot be said for the Sony. The Sony is a workhorse and very reliable, the 50mm in particular is razor sharp and produces great colors. The Leica is most impressive because of its great workmanship, it gives me more emotion, allows me to take more thoughtful and slower photos. The great thing is that you can see an almost perfect image through the viewfinder without any editing. 50mm 1.4 and 28mm 1.7 on 50mm crop are not the same. An example: I had the 50mm and the Q3 with me on a trip to Barcelona, and I used the Q3 a lot more. I recently photographed a wedding at the registry office, and the 50mm did 90% of the work.

    • @t87h21
      @t87h21 День тому

      @@Cthames123 The 24 mm 1.4 is brighter, and I would say that in combination with the a7IV, night shots are better. The Q3 seems like 26mm-28mm to me, so not quite as wide. The Leica's images have more three-dimensional depth and you can see that through the viewfinder. Since I own the Leica, the 24mm is less on it, but the Leica can't take night shots as well as the 24mm 1.4.

    I never leave comments on videos, but this one was insanely helpful in showing how to use Lumetri Colour without adding any unnecessary filler that it takes too long to get to the point, or assuming too much pre-learned knowledge - so I just had to say thank you. I use Premiere all the time for editing but rarely touch it for colouring due to the belief it was too limited, but after this video I can see all the potential and time saving opportunities when close enough is good enough for grading. I do a lot of varied jobs and honestly, 35mm F1.4 and 24-105mm F4 is frankly the top tier setup. You can use the 35mm for basically everything indoors at low light and the 24-105mm is basically the one and only outdoor lens. But, if you are like me, you need telephoto, 135mm F1.4 or a 300mm F4 is basically going to do everything, 70-200mm are waste of money, you always which you had wider, and often wish you had longer reach, I find that 500mm and 600mm are extremely situational lenses, only really good for wild life or astrophotography. The 135mm is good portrait lens, gives pretty good reach outdoor for wild life, and architecture, the 300mm is basically the wild life/landscape lens but can also be used for events getting situational shots of people, or for journalist work. 3 lenses, will give you everything, or just get a 28-400mm if you are masochist...

    • @Watzac
      @Watzac 4 дні тому

      If you put the 100-400 on the A7C, you're going to feel unbalanced but even with the 24-70 2.8 sigma, I'm more than happy shooting!

    • @adamrob9464
      @adamrob9464 4 дні тому

      @@Watzac I think in one of your videos you said if you were starting out you'd get two lenses that can do everything, I think it was 24-70, 70-200. So I was thinking that's what I'd do. But now thinking about weight on the big lens. Would you recommend another similar quality camera / price but a bit bigger?

    • @Cthames123
      @Cthames123 День тому

      @@adamrob9464 Same concern here for me on the larger lens on smaller body,(the real issue for me is the ergonomics of the grip). Full confession, I already had an A7IV, and got a super deal on an open box A7C that had 64 shutter actuations on it with the kit lens on an after Christmas sale earlier this year. A big reason was I wanted an everyday carry camera that I felt comfortable taking with me places I felt the A7IV was a little too large to lug around. I had the idea of sharing lenses across the 2 cameras, which I do. But I soon saw slapping my G-master on the A7C gives me G-master photos but wreaks the whole tiny enough to carry everywhere functionality. I use smaller lenses on my A7C, (sigma 24mm, f3.5, dg dn; sony 50mm, f 2.5,G; Sigma 90, f2.8, dg dn), which are still fantastic and I love them. Everyday I walk around 3-4miles with my A7C in my hand during my lunch break. I go home, and walk some more with my A7IV with my G-master around my neck. The G master is not a huge lens but If I carried it on my A7C for 4miles everyday I’d be afraid my hand would fall off! I could do it, but it wouldn’t be real comfortable.

    50mm fan here! I just bit the apple this week and got myself the Sony 50mm, f1.4,GM. I've only had it a couple days but so far I Love it. I plan on using it with my Sony, A7 IV, and had some reservations about using it with my everyday carry, Sony, A7C (was afraid it'd be a little large). I only use smaller lenses on my A7C, (i.e Sony 50mm, f2.5, G). Seeing you shoot on your A7C ii is making me rethink it in terms of an occasional use. Still, isn't it a little hard to handle with the smaller grip?

    • @Watzac
      @Watzac 4 дні тому

      The size hasn't bothered me at all! I understand the reservations for sure but especially when shooting with 2 hands, 1 on the camera and the other on the lens, you don't notice any strange balancing issues!
